      Trans Temp gauge sender

I would like to install a temp gauge to monitor the trans. The plan is to run the sender on the outbound line which goes to an external cooler. All of the lines are -6AN braided. Can I install a t fitting in the line and run the sender to that? Or is there a better way of doing this.
      Thanks

It is recommended to monitor from the pan. Mine is in the drain plug.

A bung on the pan is the best way to go - however someone in the forum - last year sometime - as I raised the same questions - pointed out that Summit / Jegs sells a part that goes in line on the Temp lines - that allows you to add a sensor. Either search Jegs or Summit - or this forum under Auto Trans - and you should find it - posting was around Oct 06 - I believe.
