hey guys, i'm kind of at a stand still with my project until i remove the headliner, i'd like to start sandblasting, cutting and welding but i have to get the headliner out...first... the thing is i havent ever taken one of these out and i dont want to ruin it since it is in mint shape... anyone have suggestions? the car is about 92% stripped at this point so everything is pretty much out of the way.
thanks in advance, Rich

Ive never been able to remove a headliner without having to replace it after removal. Im sure it can be done. I would rather just card board and tape it all off, so that the sand doesn't ruin it.
Maybe someone on here has removed a headliner then re-installed the same one?..... I would just leave it in it if its in mint shape. Protecting it will take 1/4 of the time then removing and re-installing. Just IMHO.

If the seams are not dry rotted (threads can be dry) and you are very careful you can loosen just the areas around the edges and reatach the m later, its worth a try . it is pretty easy to replace them later on,about a 2 hour job

hey guys, thanks for both your help. i got the headliner down tonight, everything went smooth as hell....until the last corner i went to peel back, i ripped it an inch.... but i might still reuse it, however i just looked up the cost of a new one, its only $90 bucks, which is probably going to be the cheapest thing i'll be replacing, hah... thanks again for the input. -Rich
