I think on the lower side of the frame half you would have to weld in another strip of metal to bring it up to the height of the other side. Hope this helps

thats what i was thinking but not for sure, what about welding a piece of 16g sheet metal to it. that way i don't make it a total pig with all that extra steel on it. how do you guys feel about somekind of body filler on the frame just for pin hole spots that sanding the frame down can't get rid of?

how about bondo?

DONT BONDO IT UP! I guarentee it will crack if layed on thick. I've seen it happen. Pin holes and depressions are ok as you had stated. Adding the 16ga should work good. Lots of grinding and sanding and smoothing.

forget adding all that metal. Extra weight, tons of extra work, just grind the welds smooth and call it a day. A skim coat of bondo could cover up some of the work. I personally wouldn't put bondo on it, or grind the welds. I think powdercoating works great and looks good. You can call DSE I am sure they would be very willing to tell you what they did

Tons of hours were spent welding plates on the frame and a liberal amount of filler was used. That frame is AWESOME, but is inteded for display purposes and it's not ever going to be used on the street. :)
