I put the body back onto the frame tonight. I spent the last couple of days dressing up the floor pans and undercoating. Putting the body on was not that bad. I used new poly mounts to try and stiffen the car up some more. More Updates to come.

PS. See the pop can? I stood on the front of the frame and the can got crushed. LOW ENOUGH???? About 4 inches from the frame to the ground at the lowest point.

Looks sweet. Hope to take my SS down that far some day. Whats up with Chevy Regal in your Sig? Any history behind that?

Oooh... I suppose that explains it. You could always come out here to the KY and yank this turbo 6 out of a regal in a junkyard near me.

What are your front springs rated at? I wias thinking of using a similar setup on my 87 SS but wasn't totally sure on what llbs/in I should go with, was thinking th 500 lbs/in . Also, are the spacers required with these springs and what type of adjustment/advantage do thye give you?

Ok. I am running 550lb springs. They are a bit soft but I think I can make up for it in shocks I think. For 9.5in circle track springs spacers are required. I got them from speedway motors. Nice people there. The advantage is an adjustable ride height. It is a PITA to adjust though. You have to pop one of the ball joints loose. But I have about 1.75in up and down from center adjustment. Any other questions feel free to ask.

What type of shocks are you running or planniing to run? I was thinking of circle track pieces to go with the springs.

Nice work GBGM, I too am a Chevy powered Cutlass owner. You're lookin' good now but dude, your 200+ standin on it ain't gonna mean nothin once you put a motor and the doghouse on there but...still love it!

Not too low but lower than than just the crushed Mt. Dew can, once you add in the weight of the motor, unless its a all aluminum small block. Hopefully your running shortys or block huggers because full length headers will scrape for sure.:scared: Still looks great though. :twothumbs

Hey GBGM, we're not bangin' on ya, no way, PERIOD.

I was just hoping you wouldn't take the Sat Spike shows too literally. I don't know how they talk about building a car, frame-up, with the four inch ride height deal then throw the front end on and somehow get it right later (WOW it's still 4"). There's somethin they're not tellin us in between...or their cars ride like 2X12s. There's a lot of details those shows leave out but they're still great guidelines and I've learned alot from them.

Let me tell you up front, right now, I love where you're goin with this deal ...and I'm right behind you. I don't know alot, just hoping I don't learn too much from your mistakes. And it's possible to figure spring compression for a given weight that could help get you close to what you want to see when everything else weighs in.
