Here is the issue. The transmission has been rebuilt and has just been installed. It is a 700r4. With a overdrive and three regular drive gears.

The truck moves in all drive gears perfectly, but reverse is acting like a nuetral gear. The linkage is correct and perfectly aligned. The park works perfect as well.

For some reason the reverse wont work.

The fluid level is perfect and all lines are new and are working(i bent and installed them myself, as well as the transmission and linkage).
Any ideas? Im not technically wise on the internals.

NEED HELP, any info would be very very appreciated.

I also posted in the auto-transmission area as well, just need as much help as i can get. thanks

Have you checked your line pressures? There's a chance something got hung up in the reverse valve. My friend got a fresh 700 from Bow Tie and he had problems with reverse, it ended up being some junk got in the trans somehow. He drained the fluid and refilled it, worked it through the gears a few times and so far everything's been working properly now for well over a year. You might also give Bow Tie a call, they seem to not mind answering questions whether you bought a trans from them or not.

I know it is possible to break reverse and have all the other gears work fine. Given that this is on a new rebuild sounds like something wrong with the assembly to me.
