Polyurethane Bushings

I Was Just Wondering What To Do About Squeeky Polyurethane Bushings, I Used The Supplied Grease And Used It Religiously But The Bushings Are Now Making Quite A Bit Of Noise After A Couple Months Of Use.

Best idea, switch to solid in the control arms and use greasable in other areas.

poly has no place in a pivot application that can not be greased regularly

I Was Just Wondering What To Do About Squeeky Polyurethane Bushings . . .Which bushings are noisy?

Did you shave or sand the length of the poly pieces to be slightly shorter than their inner sleeves? Doing so keeps the poly from rotating against the chassis brackets under heavy clamping pressure or possibly forcing the rotation to occur between the poly and its outer shell.

i have always used BLACK urethane bushings because they have graphite in them. and i ran out of the supplied grease one time and used synthetic brake caliper pin lube and that just happend to be the side that didnt squeak. put it on the other side and it stopped squeaking as well.just my .02

I second the synthetic grease. I hate Poly control arm bushings! By the way I got some greasable sway bay bushings, and all it said was use your favorite grease, no mention that it had to be synthetic. I know polymers and would believe that petrolium based grease may damage the bushings

Somehow I didn't get grease with the bushings (or not enough, can't remember) and used copper grease.....never had problems with noisy poly bushings....
