      Covan's questions

Are the gauges in the kit electrical or mechanical... and what is the difference?

Also is there any need for additional wiring harness they sell?

finally Im trying to do this on a budget and 900+ dollars for the bezel, gauges seems a bit steep - is there any money to be saved in buying the bezel and the gauges sperate and putting it together yourself....

      thanks guys

I'm sure that if you have a little patience you can get what you want within your budget. I was able to pick up a carbon fiber gauge cluster off of ebay and then purchased my autometer gauges thru egauges at www.egauges.com
There may be other less expensive places to pick up gauges but there is where I ended up.

I can second smitty on egauges.com. I just picked up some gauges from them, and they came through quick and easy. As smitty said, maybe a little pricier, but not much in the end.

I bought the covan blank panel and cut out 2-5'' tach/speedo and 4- 2 1/16 holes for the other gauges. I used mech. water/oil gauges and for the fuel/volts I just tapped into the original harness. I also tapped into the harness for the signals/high beam.....

They are electrical the difference is the mechanical gauges use your factory hookups i.e speedo cable, oil pressure line etc. the electrical runs off of an electrical output
