I've tried a cheaper brand. JUnk, Threw it in the garbage and used genuine Dynamat. Best Buy has it locally, a bit expensive.

Wow, it was a year ago tomorrow I bought it, but just got around to putting it in. I bought the Dynamat Extreme bulk pack for $126 and change including shipping. Just found the receipt.

I just check eBay for the best prices - watch out for the shipping.

Just received a bulk pack of extreme at work, I think you can buy it direct or you can get it from Crutchfield online. I believe it was 230.00 or so when all done.

I went the eBay route as well. Several different stores on there selling. I think it was around $130 a box to my door.

Cheap Dynamat is called RAAMmat...I did my whole car, two layers with closed cell foam (even under the dash), for about $250. Exact same stuff as Dynamat, just without paying for the name. The doors now sound like a Lexus, I love it.

Silver69,
How much does the RAAM mat weigh?
How much of the RAAM mat did you use to attain that level of damping?

I tried emailing the guy at raamaudio no reply and no phone number on the site? anyone got a number to reach him?

It took 2 days for me to get a response from Rick at RAAMaudio, he says he's crazy busy. I can't help you with a phone# but was quoted $99 a 62 sq ft roll. Not bad, it dosen't weigh as much as the Dynamat but if you double it up, it ends up being heavier for less $$.

I'd get some brown bread or some from Elemental Designs. I would never pay for the name of dynamat.

Check this outfit.

Dynamat and all of these other rubber goo aluminum backed products are to deaden ringing and resonance in the panels in my opinion. To make the car quiet you need insulation material like thermozite or 1/8" -1/4 " closed cell foam.

Don't bother with Fatmat. I bought 4 rolls and was able to do my entire '65 with less than two. I went back to do a 2nd layer after about 6 months and the adhesive was gone on the two untouched rolls. Had to throw them out. The first layer isn't sticking anymore either. In those areas subject to any heat at all, like the floorpans, the fatmat melted and the foil layer comes off with your fingers. What junk!

Just did my entire interior with Dynamat and I have to say the stuff is really good from an adhesion and sound perspective. More expensive yes, but worth it IMHO. You only have to apply it once (not layer it like other products). Once the stuff sticks it seems very permanent (I still have a pair of paints I am trying to get the tar out of).
I used 3 bulk pack boxes for my entire interior and roof and have a few sheets left over.I have been buying it on eBay from this company:

A total of $118.00 shipped per box and they ship pretty quickly. I would recommend them.

The 118.00 landed to your door is pretty good. I am a dealer and buy it wholesale and he's not getting rich selling it at 118.00

I'm going with SecondSkin; I thought about LizardSkin, but I read a bunch of really bad reviews about it. SS has a nice forum where they can help you select what you need and the price it pretty good.
