For members who do not frequent Laterl-g.net.

It's been quite some time since I posted pics of my 1969 GTO Judge.
Past pics were those of the building process. Here are some pics of my GTO completed. This was a long project in the making.

now that's what I call a clean tastefully done car. I saw it at Detroit..I like what you have done..some things just can't be improved on..no need to change if you aren't going to improve it..it's quite obvious that you and the builder understood real musclecars..

Thanks, worked long and hard on that part of the build. I give credit to what's his name at PHR. Hehehe. GET THE STANCE RIGHT! It's all coils and springs. Nothing cut.

DAMN!!! Gorgeous car and I'm drooling all over my keyboard at the detailing. Are you single and available, know your way around the kitchen, and pick up after yourself?? If so, send the car . . .

Dave, quit reading this and laughing . . .

Wow, that is sooo beautiful! Your car is an engineering marvel and you picked maybe the greatest and most desireable bodies to do it with. Nice, really nice!
Are those Boyd rims?

Roger Poirier
12-25-2006, 10:46 AM
Billet Specialties, that's where photo shop comes in. My son set up the car with the stance, wheel size and rims that I wanted. Good thing. The rims I really liked looked terrible on the car. We ended up picking 5 different sets that we thought might look good. He posted them thru photo shop and this is what we came up with.

Over 30 years ago I bought my 69 GTO Judge when I turned sixteen. I recall seeing this exact car in 6th grade driving down my local side street where I lived in St. Clair Shores, MI. I fell in love with this particular 69 GTO and bought the car of my dreams a few years later.

Since I'm showing off. The quality of chrome on this car is excellent. No China made bumpers here. The paint scheme is all painted under the clear. I did not like the old Judge stripes, so I went with a new school look.

Now that car has Stance!, my first impression when I saw the, believe it or not, frontal view. The time spent on the mile deep paint shouts out this is no ordinary paint job. Your attention to detail is incredible, great job.

She's a work of beauty. The 428 is a nice alternative to the 455.

One thing, though... are you missing a bolt in the license plate?

Thanks,

A couple keys to the stereo. It's an Alpine CD. I upgraded the kick panel speakers, put in a dual set of speakers through the factory dash speaker opening. Then two 6x9's in the rear. With the factory mesh package tray in the rear (no speaker grills showing) the whole stereo system looks pretty stealthy. Plus I added a 600 watt amp for good measure.

Here is what makes all the difference. DYNOMAT. The car sounds like a BMW on the inside. No rattles, nothing. you can here a coin drop with the motor running. Extra Dynomat applications on the firewall as well. It was 80 degrees this summer, feet never even got warm. I'm a big fan of this stuff. However, you are adding aprox. $1000 to the project.

lmao, yes, my kid noticed that as well. I need to take off the marker price on the bolt too. Actually I will have to drill a hole for that on threw the bracket. I guess I have something to do this spring.

Andrew. I don't know if you realize you were one of the hidden inspirations in designing my car. I went through your extenisve web site on Later-g.net, magizine articles etc. I would say you were slightly ahead of the curve with your own build. Even if there is Chevy engine in there it's ok by me.

wow.....thats alot of susp mods......can you tell us how different the car is from a driving perspective?? or have you wrung it out yet???

Funny story,

First time out with the car I took it to a gas station, would not restart. Timing was off, had to get a jump.

Second time out I take it to the Woodward Dream Cruise. Car starts to overheat, but I park the car in time before any damage is done. I check the car out the next morning, 6 quarts of oil lay on the floor. Plastic washer for the oil pan plug was craked. Didn't loose any on the 40 mile trip but after the car had been sitting a few hours. I also had to change the radiator a few weeks later.

Third time out I bring the car out for a photo shoot. On the way back to the garage I take the car up to 90 mph. Steering cloumn was not bolted down tight. Yep, thought the steering wheel was coming off and who knows what the hell is going to happen next. I'm definitely going through a shake down period.

Pontiacs are never great on horsepower. However, they are torque monsters. I can let loose in 2nd gear around 30mph at simply hit the gas and the rear tires break loose making you go sideways. Fun, fun, fun.

For me this being a street car it handles like it's on rails. With the old A-body's those front ends would bounce up and down all over the place. These cars used to also have a ton of wheel hop in the rear. That is gone also. The best part is the steering/suspension upgrades. Touch the steering wheel and the car instinctively goes in the direction you turn. With a stock suspension you would turn the wheel 1/2 way back and forth just to keep the car on the road. From my perspective it is all good! :bananna2:
