      Backspacing question/help

Need some assistance to fit some new wheels. I'm looking to buy 18" BS Qualifiers for my 69 camaro. The rear suspension is stock with drum brakes. The front is stock with 2" lowering spindles and wilwood disc brakes. I'm looking to go 18x9.5 with a 275x40x18 in the rear and on the front want to do a 18x8 with a 245x40x18. I believe I need a backspace of and 5.75" in the rear and 4.5 - 4.75" up front .

Does anyone have this similar setup that can help me out?

      Thanks in advance.

You need to beware of this https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/at...5&d=1120332375 with drop spindles. Other then that IIRC your BS numbers look good.

My fronts are 18x8's with 245/40's and they sit absolutely perfectly with a 4 7/8th's backspacing. I dropped my car 2" and they fit perfect, then dropped it another inch, and again fit perfect. I have Stock wheel wells all around. The rears are 18x10's with 5.5 inch backspacing and 285/35's, and they also fit great, but I do believe that a 5.75 inch backspace would also work. I did have to roll my lips. Be very careful which wheels you choose Carbo, because some may not clear your Wilwood calipers.

Do you have drum brakes on the rear as well or do you have disc? Also, how did you lower your front end, drop spindles, lowering springs? Any pictures of your ride you can post?

      Carbo,

I have stock drums in the rear and I lowered the front end with 2" Hotchkis drop coils along with a 1" drop by using the ATS spindle. Check out the pics.
