im over here pulling my hair out!!! I have a 1988 monte carlo ss...and i have a set of those sport seats from jegs. I got some universal brackets...but i cant figure it out. Call me dumb but i cant get it to work.
What have you all done? I found a set for my car from pro-car but they only fit pro car seats!!
Do you all out there with custom seats have any pointers and/or pictures of the brackets you have used??
anything would be helpfull.....im 100% lost here.

It is a problem most solve with a flat plate that connects the seat to the brackets and then you drill new holes in your floor to mount that sliders or you bolt the brackets to the seats and then the plate goes between the floor and the sliders bolt to it. It it is basically named an intermediate braket plate by some. Sometimes to save weight you can use 2 of them so that it isn't 15x15 or so.
Think about it for awhile and you will figure it out. It just gets to be a problem when the mounting holes get real close to each other making it so the intermediate piece has to use countersink bolts or be 1/2 in. thick to make things flush so they don't interfere with the brackets.
like i said just think about it and you will figure it out. Maybe someone here with a cad program or some other drawing program will draw you a picture?
Goodluck and if you need more help just ask:twothumbs

I bought the same seats.
They came with the tracks.
I just redrilled holes and mounted them to the floor. For safety, I used 1/8 plate under the car to mount them through.
I could not use the stock 69 Camaro brackets with them, or my head would have been hitting the roof.

well...after four hours of cutting...welding...torching...i finally figured it out. In total..I made 4 set ups that all fit...but the heights were off...so I had to keep trying new systems with the available material I had.
I wanted to ry to use my stock tracks/brackets...but they put me way up high...and with a helmet...thats just not gonna fly. So I got some 1.5" square tube...put them across the bottom of the seat...and then made the floor "plates" out of the saem square tube. So that raised the seat 3" off the floor...and im a happy camper. Welded the two tubes to eash other..and bolted her down. I have to add some support braces to the rear..b/c it is sitting about 3" behind the floor mount (stock stud location), but other than that....I FINALLY HAVE A RACING SEAT!!!!!!!
