Soda-blasting....

Does anyone know if there is anything special that needs to be done to the bare metal after this process?? I have been advised that I will need to wipe the surfaces affected down with a water/vinegar solution, then DA the entire car to prep the surface for primer. Has anyone had their car soda-blasted, if so, what type of prepping did you have to do before primer was shot??? Thanks in advance for the help.

I found a guy in the home town I grew up in (Marshall, MO). There were two others in the KC area, but one did not call me back (actually the guy I saw at the GG show in KS) and the other was expensive, I thought ($1000 just for the shell, added cost for the doors, hood, etc.). Anyway, I looked over some of the stuff this guy did, looked very good, so I went with him. He charges by the hour now, so it came in cheaper, plus he is doing the entire car for the hourly rate. The car should be done now, I need to call him, so I can let you know what I think when I pick it up next week. I know this is a haul from where you are located, but if you need my help (like meeting you and transporting the car) just let me know, always happy to help out. Do you have any idea on the prep before shooting primer/paint?? I had not been told this, nor had I read anything about this when researching the topic.

Hes telling you right. We have our cars soda blasted.we use vinegar and water with a scotch-brit pad then da with 80. If you wont do this you will have a problem with the primmer sticking.Bad thing is it wont show up for a couple months. primer/paint just flakes off.

I had my '69 GTO soda blasted by a place just outside my town. He recommended washing the body with soap and water and blow it off real good. He charges around $600-$700 for a complete car.
