plastic panel repair

I have a friend in need of repair on his Chevy truck. on one of the plastic panels it has cracked, (he hit his mother in laws car) well he doesnt want to sink a lot of money into it and wants it to look semi decent.

Do you have any recommendations on a product to use to either chemically bond the cracked plastic together or some sort of filler to use over it so that I can patch it and have it painted?

Really need to know the type of plastic to be specific. I don't work on many chevys. But for the most part fiberglass evercoat makes a pretty nice system. I've used it on just about every type of plastic there is since the rep gave it to me to try. It's called maxim you will need the cleaner, prep, adhesion promoter and the repair materil itself. They make a fast and super fast. Any local auto paint store should have it. PM me if you need any more help
