      Question about replacing rear sheetmetal

I'm about to replace both rear full quarters, trunk floor, trunk floor drop- offs, outer wheelhouses, tail panel. I will also be installing a set of DSE tubs. The car is a 72 Camaro.
The leafs and rearend are still in, the diff is sitting on jackstands.
My question to you guys is, is this how I want the car sitting when I do this? My first thought is yes. But I was just taking a closer look, and there won't be much supporting the frame rails when I remove the old sheetmetal.

Any guidance will be greatly appreciated.

      Kevin

P.S. Just for clarification, I will not be installing the whole DSE mini-tub kit, only the tubs themselves.

You will be MUCH farther ahead to yank the springs and diff. Besides having all of that weight hanging out there you will find all of that hardware is just in the way when you are trying to work around it...
Do the car in sections. Don't take it apart all at once. Do the outer panels first to maintain the relationship to the floor then do all of the inner stuff.
I would take a few digital pics and throw some dims into them in Power Point or Photoshop. Measure all of the hard points B4 you cut the car up so you can verify everything goes back together as it should.
Reference your dims often as you put the car back together...

I always heard or read you want the weight 0f the car on the ground or atleast support like it would be.

      Thanks Mark,
I was planing to take a bunch of pictures, but I hadn't thought of having a ref for dims. Great idea. I posted this question at a few other sites and the general consensus is that the car does need to sit on the springs (as ahowudoin stated) to keep everything where it needs to be. Ton of great info over at nastyz28.com.

      Thank again,

      Kevin
