      New Glass

Who knows best source for first gen glass that is OEM, Lof
I believe, proper thickness etc., not "replacement glass".
I don't really need date code glass just proper fitment.

      Please Help

The problem with glass now is that the manufacturers have consolidated. I believe you will find that LOF no longer exists as it was purchased by Pilkington. Pilkington glass may or may not be the exact same thickness/demensions as LOF, who knows?

Given the fact that the install methods today are different than in the past, a good installer can make a thinner piece of glass fit just as well as an original piece of glass. I just put a new Pilkington windshield in my Rally 350. Fits great!

All the vendors who are selling date coded, correctly etched LOF branded glass are just rescreening the licensed LOF emblem on a current production replacement glass with their current correct fitment for your car. So either way, there is no such thing available to fit your description of exact "original" equipment replacement glass. All the glass that's available correctly date coded and branded are just clones!!!!

I purchased all 8 pieces for my 67 camaro for 500-600 bucks, tough to beat his price.

BTW- It all showed up in Pilkington boxes

      Glass

A while back D & R Classics advertised correct thickness glass
with the GM Restoration Parts label. I wonder if that was any
different than other glass. I just want nice glass and have heard some negative things about thickness and quality offered by some
      of the big resto houses.

Rik's carries D&R. We just finished up a 69 with all new D&R glass. It sucked. You could look down the top of the glass and it wasn't even curved right ..had a big "knot" right behind where the stainless comes together. BAD LEAK. Had to space down the stainless with 2sided tape in one area to get it to seal somewhat. Called D&R ...they said they had a bad run of glass that goy out and where fixing the problem.

So I hope your glass- anywhere you get it -fit's better than what we got.

      Pain in the GLASS

Thanks for that reply, what did they offer to do?
Was it only one piece that was wrong or more?
Who has had "good" luck with a glass set?

I think we got another front set from Rik's and it was just as bad so we left the same set in the car and let the owner have it. Even got a new set from some place in florida that the owner suggested and it was the same thing...and they sent us 2 different brands. Before installing look over new glass and make sure "profile" of old and new match....the flaw was obvious when we did this. Mainly talking about door glass ...had no problem with qtrs

OEM Glass is the company that produces the resto glass that D and R, Rick's and others sell. But as my man Vintage Racer explained, it is all the same stuff. OEM buffs off the screen and rescreens a repo LOF. If you want it with LOF on it, it will be dated weather you ask for it or not, however it will match your car if you request it. I am not here for a sale, I got away from projects that worry about the correct shade of rainbow cad for the power brake booster, or percentage of gloos on the firewall, or thickness of glass. If the glass is a teenie bit thinner, it is no problem to install it.

I have not used them in many years, but tOEM Glass can hook you up.
