I'd be VERY wary of acid dipping as I have heard from several body men that you can get leaching later on in the life of your paint job. Media blasting has the same effect but with dust and sand coming out of crevices now matter how much the blast the shell with air. I suggest that you strip it chemically with aircraft stripper. It's not as messy as some people would lead you to believe and you won't have the issues that I mentioned above.

A GOOD shop that acid dips cars is going to water dip afterwards, and possibly even edp the shell. What I would be concerned about is the shell dissolving in the acid bath.
The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few.

I'm told PSC dips the shell, pulls it and dips it into a neutralizer; they inspect the car and then dip it in the acid again if there's reason to do so after the inspection. If they redip it in acid they again dip it into a neutralizer. Then they bake it and finally dip it into primer. By dipping it into primer, they get primer everywhere the acid and neutralizer went. I've not used them yet myself, so this is only what I've been told by a very happy customer. It sounds like a pretty decent approach to me.

Media Blasting also offers to prime the car, but they spray it, and I don't know how much cleanup they do before priming. Again, I've not used them yet, so this is only what I've been told by Media Blasting.

PSC wants the car stripped of everything, including suspension, so you find yourself either building a dolly, or otherwise getting the shell on a trailer/flatbed to get it there. They will unload/reload the shell. I assume Media Blasting will take a rolling shell.
