3.1L to 3.4L. The engine is from a 2004 Impala with 4k on it going in my 95 Beretta. Had to change over sensors and do some rewiring to make it work with the 95 OBDI computer. Has a couple bolt ons (very limited aftermarket) and poly mounts.

Should be some more fun in a straight line now. Still slow (~15.0) but faster than stock (16.5). It's already fun in the twisties with all the suspension upgrades.

I do get a ton of crap about it cause it's "only a Beretta" and I know if I could get $4000 for the whole car I'd be lucky, even with double that in it, but it's something different. What do you guys think?

The shocker, huh? Since you've made improvments to the driveline and suspension, technically it would qualify as pro-touring. G-machine might be a better term since it generally correlates better to later model cars. Who cares, though. Just call it a lot-more-fun-than-stock.

Maybe I'll call it a G/26. I'm looking into a rear disc conversion as well.

I don't care if it is or not. I think it's pretty badass you went through all the trouble and hassle in swapping those engines. Glad it worked out for you. How about swapping on an Eaton from one of the GTPs and seeing what breaks first? That would be fun.

It has been done in a Beretta actually. And you have to pull the motor to change spark plugs.

GTPs had a different tranny than the 4t60e in my Beretta, don't know if it would ever work. I do have a friend with a limited slip 4t60e/3400 Beretta. His best 1/4 so far is 13.90 @ 99.x. Oh yeah, did I forget to say it also has a 75 shot?

I got it out on the road today, and 200hp might not be much, but from 150 to 200 is a big jump. Feels completely different. Can't wait to get a new time slip.

Not if you put it in the trunk :p

cool creative swap. I would just call it hot rodding. most people tend to put anything that is FWD in the 'import' cat. nice that some GM cars still have cross swapability. my saturn is GM, but only saturn motors fit! oh well, 124hp in 2400lbs is still fun!

This about 200hp in 2900lbs. Still stucks with the stupid auto though. I can take a 5spd out of an 87-93 Beretta and put it in, but that means going to the older style control arms, subframes, axles, cutting the firewall, welding in a trans mount and also losing 5-6mpg or so. I kinda like 35 hwy. And I haven't found a donor car with less than 150k on it yet.

New best:

R/T: 0.199
60ft: 2.222
330ft: 6.286
1/8mi: 9.648
MPH: 73.40
1000ft: 12.517
1/4mi: 14.940
MPH: 92.52

My best 60' of the day was 2.170, but the car hit the rev limiter on the 1-2 shift (stupid auto) and it was only a 15.01.

The difference from before is a cutout right after the down pipe before the cat... and it is the only Beretta with the stock auto in the 14s now, and only the 2nd into the 14s without a power adder period.
