How to fix ABS 2nd gen front spoiler?

I have a GM 70-73 Camaro standard front spoiler with some cracks from the accident. It's missing a little plastic where it was mounted but it's definitely a usable piece and I hate to throw it away. Do they make anything to "weld" ABS plastic?

From what I have done w/ ABS, it is very sensitive to repair. I am not saying it can't be repaired, but you have to do EVERYTHING exactly correct. I don't know that they make anything that you can use to weld ABS w/unless possibly an actual strip of ABS. Haven't tried that. I know that in my airless welder kit, there isn't an actual ABS rod. They say to use the universal rod, and it doesn't work that well. If anybody knows a welding method for ABS, I would also like to know.

There is also the adhesive type of repair. Just make sure to use the adhesion promoter, and follow the directions.

use a soldering iron to melt a groove where the crack is, then work the plastic from either side of it into the groove making sure that you get it melted together from both sides of the crack. If you need more material you can use zip ties or any other plastic scraps to melt more plastic into the crack. Make sure the plastic is melted together pretty good on the sides of the crack. Think of this like your weld penetration. I was surprised at how great this worked on a couple repairs I did. It hold up great long term too. If you need to finish it off just make sure there is a little extra material there and sand as needed. For my repair I just welded up the back side and the crack is not obvious on the front.

FYI acetone is used in manufacturing for welding two abs parts together.

plastic welding is dead, use a two part repair system. or replace the part. welding on somthing like that will most likely make it look worse IMO
