I am in the process of buying a set of Budnik Famossa fatlip rims in 18x8 for the front and 18x10 in the rear. I would like to know what is the largest tire that will fit on the front rim (18x8)? Can I put a 275 on it or is that to big?

It can be done but I wouldn't go bigger than a 255.

275/40/18 approved rim sizes: 9.0" - 11.0"
255/40/18 also ranges too big at 8.5-10.0
245/45/18 ranges 7.5-9.0; it is about the same height (26.7) as a 275/40/18 (26.8).
255/45/18 ranges 8.0-9.5; it is a smidge taller (27.1).
Oddly, Dunlop lists a range of 8.0-10.0 for the Dunlop SP Sport 9000 in 285/50R18. I guess due to the height.

The taller the sidewall, the wider the tire you can fit on a given width. I've got 305/70/16 on 16x8s, manufacturer approved width.

I'm sorry I am still a little confused, what would be the best fit for that rim size? I have a 72 GTO, the front rims are 18x8 and the rear rims are 18x10 with 295/40/18's BFGOODRICH tires.

As mentioned before,a 255 is about max for an 18x8 wheel.
