How to identify real GM SS hood ??

I Have a cousin that recently purchased a 68 RS/SS car. The hood on the car is a repop. He is going to look at a hood this week that is being sold as a stock factory GM SS hood. Question is what should he look for to make sure he does not end up with another aftermarket hood? TIA Bryan
