Zinc washed hardware

Ive got a load of hardware fasteners etc. that I need to be zinc plated. Anyone done this? If so, what kind of preperation to the parts is reqiured? Blasting for rust?

I've done it with the Eastwood kit. I used a fine wire wheel for the not so rusty stuff, and blasted the really rusty stuff.
