Okay, trying to figure out whats the deal on my front fenders.

The fenders on the car are different.

Car is a 67 firebird.

The drivers side fender has a lip around the wheelwell, like an endention for wheel well trim.

The passenger side does not.

I was told the drivers was the correct one and the pass was off a 68.

The pass appears to have the factory green paint on the inside, and the drivers is red on the inside.

I talked to a body guy that was working on a 67 camaro, and he said he had never seen one without the lip.

When I look at them in the catologs, it list a 67 and 68 as the same. I can not see the lip in the photos.

So, whats the deal? I will get some pics if this does not make since.

My 68 Camaro fenders had a small indentation around the wheel lip also. Not sure on birds though but knowing GM they are probably the same. Maybe you have a old aftermarket fender. As in before manufacturers really cared about the quality.

My 67 bird has the indents for the wheel well trim.

Maybe the one without is aftermarket.

Well I did some investigating, and it turns out the pass fender is the original one, but at some point someone filled the lip in with bondo!

Mystery solved!
