Those are nice.. i have been thinking of black leather on the seats, with white inserts or white and black chek inserts.. dash will have autometers. Already have a custom wheel. Keep em coming.

ZoomieFoosh- did you guys just cover the stock 4th gen dash in cloth/ what did you use? That looks so much nicer than the OEM covering.

Dod you gain any headroom with that headliner?

The appholstry shop I went to just wrapped the dash in vinyl. I do like it better than the stock, whatever it is. I think it has a smoother, cleaner look to it. If you need any pictures of anything in particular let me know.

If you scroll up and look at the pics and the poster you will see that ZoomieFoosh has already posted several.
Zoomie-did they strip the dash of the original covering first, or just spray the stock covering with glue and adhere the vinyl with that?
Any idea what kind of vinyl they used? It looks kind of like thick smooth leather, or maybe a high grade headliner material from the pics.

Ok...Sorry all for being a thread Jesus, as this thread is waaaaay old...but.... I have to know how many people have "updated" their dash and console like this guy did. It looks like a 99+ Grand Am, or 98+ Grand Prix for this application.
One of my ideas for my Olds is to also try to keep it all Olds on the inside while updating the comfort and looks. After owning a 98 Intrigue, and 02 Alero, both of which were modded quite a bit,...well the Alero would have almost fit in on this board..lol. I want to try and incorporate some interior, namely seats, and console..MAYBE a dash from either an Olds Aurora, Intrigue, or Alero.
This would be going into a 71 Cutlass S so I understand the Intrgue and Aurora could be pains in the ass to try and use on a 2dr car, but in all honesty I think my theme is going to be to try and infuse as much generations as I can on our project..(which has yet to named..lol)
What are everyones thoughts on this?
Thanks

Here is what I am working on.
I still have to find or make a door pull and get some window cranks and door handles I like but the basics are done.
The black carpet will make it look completly different in the pics.
It is hard to get a good pic of the perforated aluminum with a camera that does it justice.

WOW..built for a purpose..I like it.
I have determined I will have to go with either Alero 2dr front seats, and possibly rears from a 2dr, or rears from a Intrigue. Console will most likely be intrigue as I like them better. Im sure I will have to do some fiberglassing to meet up to the dash, but no biggie. I think the biggest thing for me is I need to have ALL the parts before I start, as Im sure I replace the perfect orange carpeting for black I think.

:) Here are some pics of my 71 cuda. The seats are unkown as to which car they came out of found them at a swap meet for $100.
Console is out of a 1999 Chrysler 300M wanted drink holders.Door panel inserts are home made along with gauge cluster. If you go to www.cuda-challenger.com (http://www.cuda-challenger.com) there are some interesting interiors thst people have done.Your imagination is your only limiting factor.

My Monte got a relatively mild interior customization.
Leather Racing Seats, 4 point harness, Covans Dash with Autometer Gauges, Pillar Gauges, Custom Center Console, Grant Leather Steering Wheel, Anvil Carbon Fiber Armrests and other CF accents, billet knobs, kickpanel speakers, moulded rear package tray from NPD with speakers and 3rd brake light...
I am also on my way to install a leather rear seat from a 03 Monte Carlo as well. Also will have twistmachines gauge bezels soon (they are really cool!)
I know, I still have to clean up some wiring....
