Painting aluminum closeout panel
I have a DSE closeout that I want to paint the body color. I'm using PPG products. Should I spray a coat of the DP epoxy primer first or should I put down some K36 high build first.(to fill the scratches). Also, Do I need to "rough it up" a bit to get the primer to stick? Thanks, John

prep
sand with 320, ep prime, then wet on wet into high build, if you think high build will fill the scratches, then sand high build with 320 then 400 seal and paint or finish in 600 and go right into basecoat

What DSE closeout are you talking about? Doing the final strip down of my 69 Camaro and want to get an accurate list of what I want the body shop to do.
