I was thinking about applying a couple of these above the mufflers and transmission on the underneath of the car to help reduce heat and sound inside the car. Anyone here using these or something similar? Also how well do these hold up on the underside of a street driven car?

I've had it on for three years in places where my pipes are about 1/4" from the floor. Not easy to maximize ground clearance on a vert with my x-pipe! It's held up well. I don't think you'll see any effect on sound control though.

I don't expect this to reduce the sound like their ad says, but more for the heat reduction. I measured the heat,on the trans tunnel between the seats, with a infrared heat gun at it reads close to 120 degrees. Did you only apply it above the exhaust pipes or did you do the trans tunnel.?

I only applied it where the pipes came close to the floor. I had painted the underneath and didn't want blistering, etc. Down the length of the tunnel my system is probably 3/4-1" away and I haven't seen a problem.
