I just installed my newly rebuilt turdgen box in my Camaro, after rebuilding it, painting it, torquing my steering arm nut to 200 ft/lbs swimming in red loctite (oh no, you might say.) Yup! Problem here. check it out.. anyone know a solution that doesnt involve me pulling out the pipe wrench again?

ahh ummm I thought the pitman arm had the ball joint? WTH? https://static1.pt-content.com/images/pt/2006/07/67manstrlong-1.jpg
Looks to be the wrong pitman, pull it fast!! You can rent puller from Kragen. Or bring it to a front end shop with a sixer.

yep, use the pittman arm for the car you are building, not the one for the car the box is made for. It will work.

Yes, that appears to be a 3rd gen arm - I just threw one in the big box of useless parts. The 2nd gen arm is flat and the 1st is wearable.

The pitman nut torque spec is 145 ft lbs.
If you have any mis alignment of the center link, loosen the idler arm and steering box bolts at the frame, then connect the center link.

yeah, I got it. I dont have 160 bucks to blow right now, and my 12" ones will do just fine. In a sub 3000lb car that wont be auto-x'ed, 12" dual pistons are plenty. I gotta conserve money, i'm saving for a DD.
how's your car coming?

Whats a DD, less than 3k, you need to go find a scale, if you gonna be less than 3K you need to take the car back apart and start cutting,
waiting on money and parts,
