I'm new here but id id a search and couldn;t find an answer.
I see Wilwood now has a 12.19 kit for the fronts of second gen F bodies, compared to their old 10.75, both use Dynalite calipers. Anyone tried them? Track change, wheel fit? Since the factory B cars fit a 12" in 15" wheels I always wondered why the aftermarkets say they won't fit, especially Baer. I could see the 4 piston calipers rubbing the wheel spokes but a not that much taller over the rotor for diameter.
I also wondered about using a different Wilwood caliper that takes a larger pad like the SL-GT or GT III caliper on the 10.75 kit brackets and a thicker 1.25 rotor.
Swapping my 78 Trans Am over from a drag car to cornering again , it has the factory 11" front discs and the 81 factory rear disc setup, fits the snowflake wheels fine ot the 1988 16" mesh GTA wheels for better cornering.
