You can see a '69 with 18's and a '68 with 18's on my website.. lots of photos. www.z069.us (http://www.z069.us)

In MOST cases I don't like wheels bigger than an 18 for looks although those wheels look sweet on Fuel.. For performance you should stick with a 17-18 inch wheel. Anything bigger is putting form over function. just my .02

Steve , Fuel has 18's at all 4 corners, 18x8.5 and 18x12's No more 20's on the rear for me .

datsbad, I saw your car in Hagerstown at the mall car show a few weeks ago. I must say, it's an awesome ride!

wow that looks good! Anymore pics of that? I am kinda focusing on looks at this point. I drag raced mine all summer last year and actually got kinda burned out (ha) , not to mention it sorta took its toll on my muncie..so I am going to just cruise it this summer, and was looking at some wheel options. I have a set of 16x8 halibrand 5 spokes with the cast center but I think I want something a little bigger..anyone want to buy some halibrands?? lol..
PS these smilies are crazy:jump:

Brian - wow, that car looks sick. What kind of wheels are those? Those look freaking awesome :jawdrop: Do you have any more pics? Perhaps at ground level?

EDIT: Ok I found your CarDomain.com page :pat: and saw that they're stock C6 Vette wheels. How did you get them to fit on your car? Do you have minitubs or narrowed rear end? Please enlighten me, because I've always loved the C6 wheels, but didn't think there was any way to get them to fit.

those appear to be new vette wheels.

haha thanks, they're factory takeoff competetion grey c6 wheels $600 to my door! (though over 900 for tires...)

Ill get some good pics and videos when the car is done in a few weeks. just a word of caution, if you have shocks in the stock location they will not clear, the rears are 19x10.

:banghead: Why is it that every wheel I like won't fit on my car??? I'm even willing to buy adapters to make stuff fit, but I just can't seem to find a wheel I like that will work. I think a big part of it is that it's hard to find a set of wheels off a modern car (i.e. C6 Vette) that come in __x8" and __x9.5" (or even just a 9") staggered widths.

Well the c5 vette wheels are 17x8.5 and 18x9.5.... and if you mini tubbed the rear you would have way more than enough room, and i am using a 1.25" adapter in front and 2" in the rear.

If you really like the looks and dont mind the added risk of running adapters you would probably still be spending money for the vette wheels and the mini tub over billet wheels, also all the pre made vette offset wheels will bolt right up and most sets are <$1k new.

Brian's car is damn close to sitting on the fender lips at the moment. It's a REALLY tight fit. I'm not sure if that's at the final ride height in the picture though. All I can say is, it looks damn good in person.

From five years ago, so it's a bit dated.

Steve,

Yeah, we were having a little fun that day. During the 5th all manual changing of all the rims John Hotchkis says to Kevin Lee and I "would you guys like to use our air rachet?" :hah:

Here's one standing on the wall next to the drag racing lane.

wow the red camaro with the 20" rallye's is crazy. I like it though, is it tubbed at all? Mine isnt and never will be so that is an obstacle for me. I remember the article in CHP that had your red^^^^camaro in it, I look at it fairly often actually. Love it. Actually I have a set of 16x8 Halibrand 5-spokes that look just like those I was thinking about running on mine until I can get something a little bigger, I just havent wanted to invest in tires....

Is is NOT tubbed. None of the cars on that site are.

Prodigy...crazy man!!

So what is the deal? '67-'68, without mini tub, can handle a 9" rear or 10"??

I Think Stevo (Streetfytr68) is running 18x10 rears on his car: http://www.lateral-g.net/chryssos/ And I think he has a write up on how to make them fit.

Most 1st gen guys run 9.5" rears with 5.5" BS on stock tubbed cars without any problems, how low it sits will also affect the clearance.

hey raybar... i think i saw your car at the mission hill car show last weekend... i have to say it really stood out of all the cars there... it was one of the first cars that caught my eye... its also the first pro-touring hot rod i have even seen in real life... those rear brake light trims really looked good... and i figured it was a lsx/t-56 combo... and the brake lights are led? i am currently building a 69 camaro my self... im still in the very early stages and seeing your car was a good influence...

That's cool, it seems like the trend is catching on here late. if you need a hand or have any questions drop me a line. I wasn't around the car much as I'm not too much of a lawnchair/carshow type guy. I am bringing it to Langley this year as well.
