      Un-anodizing?

I'm pretty unfamiliar with anodized finishes, but I have a couple of small anodized parts that I would like to "un-anodize". Is this possible? Or can they at least be anodized to a different color?

Yep, or a wire wheel will take it off licketysplit.

If the parts will be anodized a different color, don't bother stripping them. Standard practice for anodizing shops is to clean/strip the parts first...you pay for it whether they need it or not.

      Yup...

oh and make sure it's ventilated. Like even being outside, have a healthy fan running and stay upwind. That stuff is potent

This may be way out-of-date but I thought some of you may find this to be good reading...I may not be allowed to post it since the site is not a sponsor (at least with some other sites they won't let you post this kind of link) http://www.focuser.com/atm/anodize/anodize99.html

Just a FYI on this subject.

I believe you can buy a powder type solution that mixes with water from EASTWOOD that strips the anodizing .

I myself use RED DEVIL LYE ( ALSO MIXES WITH WATER ..I straighten all my own stainless and aluminum and it does the job very well - Takes a little time to soak depending on how costic you mix it , but works great.
