I need to buy the front rims and tires for my car. The problem is I cant set the car back on the ground, rear frame is out of it. I cant get the front suspension to fully compress. The car has the hotchkis front springs, which is about a 2" drop from stock. I am getting 17" x 7" wheels but need to know what backspacing. If anyone has a similar setup or tell me how to fully compress the springs with the rear of the car on jack stands please let me know. I was thinking about 4 5/8" or 4 3/4" spacing. The car also has stock control arms and wheelwells. Thank you.

sounds to me like your only hope is a set of rentable $25 spring compressors from some place like Auto Zone.

I have a spring compressor but how do I know when I have achieved the actual ride height? BTW thanks for the compressor tip.
