Cleaning up polished Aluminum rims

I am getting some bumps (corrosion) on the face of my rims and was wondering how to get it off. I have heard of an SOS pad or 00 steel wool for chrome, but what about polished aluminum?

I haven't used one myself, but I've had several people tell me that the Mother's PowerBall is awesome. I'm pretty sure they sell polish that you can use with it on polished aluminum rims.

Got one. Used it with the power metal polish. Not getting rid of this stuff. I am thinking it needs something withj more elbow grease or a more abrasive surface but I don't want to ruin the finish. I sed to use the mag & aluminum polish by hand, haven't tried it yet. Just trying to find a good way before I start trying things myself. Thanks.

I used Wenol for years, works very well.

Does it work well enough to get rid of the corrosoin bumps or whatever the hell they are? What are they anyway?

Yea I've got both the red and blue Wenol, and they work really well. I can never remember which one is the more abrasive, but if you get both, you could start with the milder one and then move up to the harsher one if necessary.

Mothers. It polishes stainless, aluminum, chrome, works miracles beyond belief. And its only $4.00.

I think the red is more abrasive. Can't recall using on "corrosoin bumps", but if I had them I would first try the Wenol first.

When all else failed,
I used 000 steel wool with semi-chrome polish.(there is 0000 steel wool if you can find it!)Once all the garbage is removed clean the wheel again and put some kind of protectant on them.For best results take wheel off the car.Mine almost look new again, pretty good for 10+yrs old wheels.

I'd only suggest this on neglected wheels, but imo it works very well on aluminum.

Wenol looks good but havent tried it.
