      Fit????

Will a 17x8 w/4/75 bs with 235/50-17 fit ob the front of a 69 camaro/firebird without rubbing? I know alot of people run that rim width/bs but what about that tire size? Suspension is stock.

      Thanks for your help/insight

      Scott

PS - I didnt find any info on the chart, so I thought I would ask

A 235/40/17 would fit. Who makes a 235/50/17 and why would you want that particular size?

I run a 17x8 with 4.5" bs, 245/45/17 and I rub the frame on lock turns. Your tire is a hair narrower but the added bs could cause some issues.
Of course I have Wilwood Hubs/brakes, so my track width may be altered a little.

Do you still believe in all the things that you stood by before? Are you out there on the front lines, or at home keeping score?

I actually have a set of these tires sitting around. They are made by Continental tire and came off my Chev. Colorado

So, do you think I could run 4.5" bs with these tires? I have even thought about going 17 x 7 w/ 4" BS and using these tires.....

4.5 will be fine. I have a slight rub, nothing major or limiting. Iwould only be concerned with the added .25" bs. But as I said, with my Wilwood hubs and brakes, my track width may be slightly altered. The best advice would be to measure everything.

I just ordered wheels and got a lot of different answers from 4.5 to 4 7/8 to 5 inch. I went by a friends shop and he had 3 69 Camaros sitting there all with 17X8 with 5" bs and said that is the only combination he ever puts on them. Now he is a very large guy and told me that combination can not be made to rub. He did tell me 4,75 would probably work for me as I am not a very large guy .

My '68 just barely touches the frame on full lock. That's with 17x8 with 5" b.s. and 245/45s. Based on that I would guess no issues. Oh, and I'm running Baer brakes.
