Most Camaros came with the hole already there. It should be a simple drop in.

Why nit just remove the remote part from the mirror. Shouldn't be anything that a cutoff wheel can't handle?

the remote is needs to stay if it came with one. It is what holds the mirror from moving.

I had put the bullit mirrors on my car without cutting a hole for the remote. I zip tied the remote inside the door. You can adjust the mirror just like a non-remote mirror. The problem was, everytime you close the door, you would have to re-adjust it. I now have re-pro panels and have cut the hole and I no longer have to readjust the mirrors when I close the door.

I am just going thru that mess right now with the Mule. The drivers side mirror had pass side guts in it but last year on Power tour the pot metal broke holding the mirror. I fixed it on Power tour by buying a caulking gun and filling the sport mirror housing with two tubes of silicone. Problem was when I adjusted the mirror with the silicone wet I was parked on a slope at 9:00 pm at the hotel. Looked great in the morning until I got on the road and had to duck down the see the mirror. Just now fixing it. You need the pass side mirror that has the ball and socket with a stud. Then you drill out the pot metal piece on the drivers side so you can bolt the pass side on. Hard to explain but it works. Basically you attack the pass side ball and stud to the drivers side mirror.

Question for the guys who already did it. What kind of donor car did your mirrors come from? 2nd gen F-body, 77-82 Vette, Chevelle/GTO/etc.

I guess I should rephrase the question. Mr. Lillard, what mirrors were used on the Mule?

I purchased the bullets off ebay- sec gen mirrors. The hole for the remote is on all Camaros (as far as I know). I like my remote-first gens could have a remote as an option-obviously. You could just dead head it in the door I guess, but what's the point.

I believe the Mule has 74-77 type Chevelle mirrors. You can take the guts from one right side mirror and put them in a drivers side housing. Here is a pic of the pass side ball and socket attached to a drivers side plastic piece that the mirror glues onto. The drivers and passenger side plastic pieces are different shapes.

In this pic you can see the cast potmetal piece that had the three cables. They were ground off flat and the center stud was removed. Then a hole drilled to to mount the ball and stud from the passenger side.

I have seen 91-92 Buick Regal mirrows used for this, cool thing is they are electric, both of them! Also the switch came from an 89 Regal. Will try to find where this was posted and link to it.

Well, here's the link but the pics no longer show!

There is guy named Joe martin,he sold me all the pieces to put the mirrors on my car. He could write a book on gm mirrors, his prices were fair and he is a nice guy. He even includes instructions for mixing and matching mirrors. 989 667 9204
