So far no good, at this point things are not looking to good for this car to have hydroboost . I am having some problems that NO ONE can figure out.
I am a little frustarted at this point , i am now doing back tracking on a project that has a stiff timeline and now have messed up some nice finishes due to trying this and that to see whats wrong.
so i want to know who else has problems? my brakes apply automatically when you turn the steering, doesnt make it fun to drive unless you plan on never turning !!! LOL !

I saw this only once. I was working on a gm 1 ton van that was hit in the front. Turns out the master cyl. and hydroboost got pushed in and down. The pedal stayed pushed ever so little. I think the boost unit was damaged also. Pulled the firewall back and changed the hydroboost unit and all was well. I can't say what was the cause exactly. FRANK

How are your return lines set up? That would be the first thing I would check. Ideally you should have seperate return lines to the reservoir from the PS box and the hydroboost so you don't "back up" the hydroboost's return line as that will apply the brakes. Do the brakes also apply if you rev the engine up? If so that's a telltale of a backed up return line.
If you have the return lines "Tee'd" together, make sure you have the PS box's return going straight through the Tee and have the hydroboosts return making the 90 degree turn at the Tee.

still pissed about the fluid everywhere   , now i got to take things apart and clean and repaint. It was a perfect , spotless frame fender well, now its not so pretty.

Oh don't worry about it, the 1200 miles in the rain your fixing to do is going to much more damage then that fluid, LOL! Were looking forward to it also. Ugh!

This is what sucks about building a showcar.

showcar? i think not . its made to drive , but when there is this much money involved and everything is new i think its nice to take some pride in what i have done and have it all new.
i dont think a showcar would be driving to florida and back in 2-3 weeks for a total of 3,000 miles.

Call it what you will, but ....... If you've ever been worried about your frame being spotless, ya might have a showcar. :)

Nice Goat.
I can empathize as I just upgraded the suspension and painted everything under the hood nicely then had to R&R a PS pump and it pissed me off that it made a mess with the fluid all over my nice clean painting on the frame and steering box as the car hadn't been driven yet. Now that I have a few miles on it, the mess isn't a big deal but I just wanted it to look good for that short time. Is that too much to ask!?! :) LOL

Who likes seeing a messy engine bay?? Keep it as clean as possible. With each mess you clean it makes detailing less necessary.

well i just started the motor today. im still messign around with timing etc. but i bled the brakes and theres now no air to be found. the pedal is fine when the car is off. as soon as i start the motor, the pedal turns soft. now im going to try and put the wheels on and put it on the ground and turn the wheel to see if the power steering pump is good or bad. if the pump is bad then the hydraboost wont work either. if the pump is good i have no idea what is wrong.

Please post what you find as I intend to use this system on a couple of cars.
