Have any of you bought these yet? I was kind of shocked when I saw the price($465). I was hoping they would be around the same price as the 69's. It does look like a lot more work has to go into them though. Do these come with LED lights or do you have to use your old standard bulbs? Thanks, John

They are just the bezels and the lenses. You need to use the other parts from the old taillight housing assemblies or get the LED lights.

They Take a LOT LOT LOT more work to mill out compared to the 69 units and they take a bigger hunk of aluminum from what I saw.

You use your standard bulbs and housings.. combine them with the american autowire lenses and they would rock!

I wish they were priced lower. It is kind of too steep .

That's an awful lot of money for a cosmetic piece. I'm going to pass at that price. The originals should do just fine.

Man they look nice. Did you see the pics in this thread? https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18412 They put the new repro bezels I was going to use to shame... Anyone need a pair of the original repro bezels for a standard '68 coupe? I have some to sell... :) I saw a '68 the other day with painted bezels - they didn't look too bad covered up.

The Marquez ones are expensive, true, but the exclusivity will make them even more unique...

Am I trying to justify to myself yet another car purchase? No comment...

They look really nice, but where's the black paint that supposed to surround the bezel? They don't look right without the black paint. I'm sure you could apply it on yourself if you wanted to.

Tom....send me some pics of your light bezels. I might take them off your hands. [email protected]

That's what I like about the Marquez bezels actually... to each his own I guess.

I can take some pics if you'd like, although they're just the repros that I bought from Classic Industries, in the boxes and everything, unused.

I gotta agree, they look very nice, but something just isn't right to me without the black paint around the lens...

That is true. It takes 1718 passes on a CNC to machine a set.

The are beautiful, but that is waaaay too much coin for me to spend on something that is purely cosmetic. Not to mention in order to have the tail-lights actually WORK BETTER, Id have to spend another wad of cash on the AAW LEDs.

I'll stick with the LEDs and OE bezels.

I bought the set from the guy who won them on Lateral G, rocketrod. I priced them from Rick's and it was going to be in the mid to upper $200's for stock ones. When he posted these at $400, I decided to pull the trigger.

They are awesome.

Uhh... nope. They are OE 1967 RS. There is no paint to them at all, and they are a single lense.

When you paint the centers they don't look much different from the OEM ones. In fact, it might be hard for people to notice that they actually are something different. You might have to point it out.

Those are the best kinds of mods.. the subtle ones. On my old 2000 SS I had export tail lights.. they were just slightly different from the stockers. I remember paying a stupid amount for them. In the end it was the little unique touches that set that car apart from other ones and since they were subtle people didn't even know why they liked the car.. they just did.

Yea.... but they are still the OE 67 single lense design.

Im not a rocket scientist like some around here but...

Kinda looks EXACTLY like a single lense, 1967 RS Camaro light. Gee. I dunno........ these ARE the Marquez lights in question.

By OE I thought you meant NOT the Marquez bezels... OE=Original Equipment right? And Prodigy's are painted as you can see if you compare the pic to the stock one you posted...

The one I posted.... is not stock. It is a Marquez.... 1967 RS tail light.

The lights used on Prodigy, are not painted (with the exception of the black around the bezel to replicate the factory paint detail). You can blow the picture up to 'micro pixel level'..... and clear as day, the "centers" are not painted.

It is a single lense.

Yes, compare the pic of the one you posted (Marquez, not stock) and the pic of Prodigy. The Prodigy ones are painted black, which is what I've been trying to say all along... Nothing to do with the lens, just talking about the black just inside the bezel. So in other words we've been saying the same thing. Sometimes typing just doesn't get the message across I guess..

Nobody is claiming to be a "rocket scientist".. You just sounded so sure.. notice the smilie after my comment? :)

Anyways.. that's the Marquez unit.. comes in single lense, dual lens and tri-lens. The outter ring is almost flat while the OME bezel has a rounded lip. If you had both next to each other you would notice the subtle differences.

Sorta like their '69 side marker bezels.. from 10ft away they don't look a lot different from stock. Up close they look much nicer with cleaner lines.

I personally like subtle changes.. they all add up to make you ride look different from the other eleventy billion first-gens out there. There's room in life for go-parts AND show-parts.. they are not mutually exclusive..

Now lets all hug..

When I go to install mine I will take a picture of a Marquez light next to an OEM light.. this way you will be able to see that "EXACTLY" was exactly the wrong word for you to use.. lol

People are weird.. if you don't like them don't buy them.. if you think they are too much cash then don't buy them.. Why is this a tough concept?

Anyways.. it's just one of those small details that adds up one car standing out in a crowd.

jusy a word of advise here , DO NOT USE THE DIFFUSERS IN THE MARQUEZ LIGHTS.

I was almost rear ended many times in our group on the powertour.
Those of you that have the AAW sequnetial kit , remove the diffusers(stick on) the marquez lights do not need them . It is VERY hard to see the brake lights in the bright sun

I just saw this post. The taillights in Prodigy came in a beutiful natural finish, but it just jumped a bit to much for us off the black car and we decided to semi gloss the centers. As far as being different enough to notice. Prodigy has a lot of distracting features that you would think would draw you away from the taillights, but people still pick up on the taillights so even painted black, they are still noticed.
