Places to look for used wheels/tires?

Hey, everyone, I'm trying to find more places to look for used 17" or 18" wheels and/or tires (8" front, 8-9.5" rear). I'm wanting to buy something for my '68 Camaro, but can't really find anything so far. I'm trying to get wheels/tires for relatively cheap because I'd like to get my crate engine by the end of the summer. So far I've checked:

      - P-T.com For Sale forum
      - Lateral-G.net For Sale forum
      - eBay.com

Where else can I look to find used wheels/tires? Any suggestions? Thanks!

      Deep,

I just looked all through e-bay and was blessed to find a guy local to vegas selling a set of 17" corvette rims. Got 4 rims and 2 tires for $450 and he delivered them to my door. If he were not across town i would have got them for 400 but w/ gas prices as they are the extra 50 delivery charge was cool w/ me.

Try a search for corvette wheels on e-bay since C4s came stock w/ 17" ers. Have the results listed from least expensie to most expensive. If you can not find any sellers in TX, then try www.craigslist.com and do a TX search there.

If that does not work, try to hunt down some vette wheels in the local classifieds or salvage yards. Happy hunting.

Thanks for the tips! I've looked at the C4 Vette wheels before, but if I remember right, the offset/backspace is not what you'd need for a car with stock wheel tubs. I guess since it's probably too deep I could try a spacer, but I don't think a spacer would be enough to get them away from the wells. What year Vette were your wheels off of?

The "Bricks", the "Ghetto", the "Projects"!

Go to your local public housing area and look at the local used wheel and tire dealer (legal) in that area. They ALWAYS have some of the best and most expensive wheels and tires on the market that are used and bargain priced.

You never know when a local "entreprenuer" will get busted and need "jack" to keep his "grill" out of "3 hots and cot"!!!

I am serious, you will find a lot of "bling" and some nice wheels/tires for sale. Give it a try!

They are Z06 wheels for the C4 body style corvette. C4s ran from 1984 -1996 I think. I did not ask the exact year and backspacing because I plan to use them for rollers and mock up for new billet wheels later.

On a more serious note: Ignore the response above. You want help not insight on how to go to jail.

How do you figure that? He said go to a used tire dealer in the hood. He didn't say buy them off of the street corner or out of the trunk of a car.

He is right by the way you can find some nice ones but now days they are 22''+

Ok i admit I was wrong. I saw The "Bricks", the "Ghetto", the "Projects"! and jumped to conclusions before reading the whole post. True he could have worded it a little better, but that does not excuse my mistake. I appologize.
