I have a 68 camaro w/ stock rearend and ls1 brakes. It measures 60 3/8 from where the wheels bolt up. I am wanting to run a 18x10 w/ 295/35 tire and was thinking about a 6" backspacing. I am just checking to see if this combo will work or any other backspacing e better. I have also mini-tubbed the wheelwells 2 1/2"
I am getting ready to order wheels and just want to make sure they will fit OK.
Thanks

You have a somewhat unique combination. But since you're not getting any other help, I'll offer this.
I have a 9.5" rim, 5.5" b.s. with 275/40 tires and stock drum brakes. I have slight rubbing on the inside wheel well on hard corners. I think the general rule from what I've heard here is discs (don't know if same for LS1 rears) will kick it out 1/4". Although lots of people seem to think this combo fits (probably works better on '69s), I swear it's the tire is right in line with the edge of the lip (so even rolling it wouldn't work). Luckily my springs and shocks keep it from ever getting close to bottoming out. So let's assume ideally I'd want at least 1/4" more clearance to the lip to avoid having to roll them.
So from this we both have the same amount of (for lack of a better term) front space: 4"
You're tire combo is 1" wider: 4 - 0.5 = 3.5
You have disc brakes: 3.5- 0.25 = 3.25
And you want clearanc to the lip: 3.25- 0.25 = 3"
That would put you with 7" of backspacing.
I'll let you do the math to verify inside clearance.
Hope this helps.

I still have to some final measuring, but I was just trying to see if anyone had any ideas or problems w/ this. I was running 15x8 w/ 275/65 tires before. The wheels have 4" BS and I figured another 2" to the inside would be fine. Thanks for the info.

Not apples-to-apples but info may help you.
Stock width 12 bolt w/ aluminum drums (otherwise stock) on 69 Bird. Ordered Budnik Arrowheads w/ 12" width and 8.0" BS. Tire size 390/45 (14.8" section). DSE minitub. Final fitment in a week or two.

5.75 inches would work for a 10 inch wide wheel ona 68, im just not so sure about the 295.... i dont know that it will fit without a little fender work.
Sorry I can't tell you the relevance of this info, but....
On my 69 Camaro, using standard offset 15x8" Cragar rims and stock width 10 bolt, I ran a 295 BF Goodrich Radial TA back in the day. The lip had to be rolled...but all in all, I drove that thing daily and did not cut the tire.
I would imagine that with your extra 2.5 inches that the tire fitment should not be a problem.
Sorry I do not know the backspacing of that 8" standard offset Cragar rim. If you figure it out, you would want to move the tire in about 1.5" I'd say.
