I was wondering if anyone can give me some pointers on installing reproduction seat covers on my 69 Camaro. I recently lost my local interior guy and figured I'd give it a try being it's my own personal car. I was told once before to cover the seat foam with a plastic garbage bag to get the covers to slide on easily???
Any help would be appreciated. Don

Garbage bag not required for 69 style seats. I suggest starting with the rear seat to get a "feel" for things. On the front seats, where they hog ring around the horse shoe insert area, we cut the lister strip open and put a coat hanger in it to help prevent divits at each hog ring.

I did a seat cover and installing 69 interior tech article some years ago, let me see if I can find a copy of the magazine and I will scan it for you.

If you decide not to try yourself...look up B&A glass and trim in Addison (on Rohlwing Rd (old 53) just north of North ave).

If you can get Mike from B+A to do it he's the best around.

Thanks Frank, I think I'll give it a try myself. I only need to do the buckets. Wish me luck, Don

In the next few weeks I'll be recovering my back seat (front seats were done professionally a few years ago). I'm using the comfortweave upholstery kit from Year One.

Anyone tackled this project and have some tips, hints or tricks for me?

I love pro-touring.com. This thread couldn't have come at a better time. I ran out of cash - might not even be able to afford rims and tires this year to get it on teh road though I jumped ahead and got the interior on sale. I thought I was going to put this off till next year. Now I'm going to do the seats myself.
