View Full Version : whats involved converting Std 68 grill to a RS hideaway?

hey everyone. just curious if anyone knows or has done this.....whats all involved in converting a standard 68 camaro grill to a rs hideaway? is it bolt on parts or are the front ends completly different?? Im thinking seriously on doing this.... just any info would ROCK! thanks

Colt, I think the front fenders are different. I see they list repro fenders as RS or non RS. If you do go to RS front, let me know because I'd be interested in your grill/headlights.

i think the only difference in fenders is a small tab for the rs equipment..heard of peolple fabbing this tab and welding it on..might not need it if using the electric door conversion..mines already an rs..so guess i got lucky..

A few years ago the Paddock mail order catalog parts house sold the brackets you need to convert standard fenders to RS fenders. I have not looked through one of their catalogs in a while though.

Classis Industries, along with others, markets a complete conversion kit for about $1,000. Includes the fender adaptor brackets along with everything else you will need.
