      Wheel interchangability question

I've got a 1969 Pontiac firebird, and I'm wondering how modern of Firebird wheels will still fit my car. More specifically, what I want it a set of 16x8 GTA wheels (the black mesh with polished lip wheels) I searched google but couldn't find bolt pattern/offset specs for those wheels. Does anyone know for sure if they'll fit a first gen? If I'm not mistaken the front and rear of the GTA wheels are different backspacing. These came on mid to late 80's GTAs.

      Thanks.

The bolt pattern is 5x4 3/4" - same as your '69. The backspacing on the GTA rims is roughly 4" on the front, and 5" for the rears. Depending on how much room you have, you'll either need 4 "front" rims, or maybe put the "rears" on the front of your car, and the "fronts" in the back. What color car do you have? I ask, because the GTA rims came with black, gold, or gray centers. I'm sure one of them would contrast nicely.

My car is hugger orange with a black vinyl top. I'm thinking the black is going to look really good on it (if it fits).

The black ones would look sharp on your car! Try searching the Classifieds over at www.thirdgen.org/techboard - you might find a set close to you that'll work!
