Yes bmw wheels will fit! on a first gen. they are 17x8.5 5x120 mm 13 mm offset rondell #58. tires are fuzion 235/45/17 and 255/45/17.two issues are the front caps don't fit as you can see in the pics, working that out still. the hub bore is 1/16" off, but I took the car out and it did not shake or shimmy at all.I will however build or buy some hub centric rings just to be safe. Well what do you think? they are so cool huh !!??

yeah looks good, love the splitter too. Once you get the rings the caps should fit. Make sure you check the torque offen.

Neat. I like the whole package. Looks very businees like! Sorta "Don't muck with me or I'll eat you" kinda business.

The front spoiler is interesting and different...is that a stock spoiler with an aluminum thingamajiog you made? Or What? More details.

Can you get a couple of pics of the rear spoiler? We have a fellow member who is trying to decide what to do for a rear spoiler. Is yours stock height or shortened?

the rear spoiler is a stock 69 part built to fit a 67-68. the front is a stock part with an alum splitter on it that I made. There is a thread in paint and body called aero stuff that shows pics of the front and rear. I dont know how to make a link to it.

Wow dude, those wheels look fantastic!

Honestly, I wouldn't put the center caps in. It looks all businiess without them.

gonein67bird,

Looks awesome! That is the same style I was looking at for my 69 bird. Where did you buy them from? What BMW series are they from? I have been looking on this site http://www.lakeshorewheelandtire.com/specials/bmw-8-18-e31.shtml

Thanks

I like them both alot, I didn't know about the rear diffuser until I read the thread you have in Paint & Body. Here's a link for anybody else...

Unfortunatly I didn't see any pics of the rear deck lid spoiler.

Might you have some you could show us?

Thanks

I looked at lakeshore also but they didnt have any in stock.I got them from The Wheel Exchange. They have a bunch on ebay also. when I called all the places I called triing to get some wheels tire rack, lakeshore, wheel exchange I just told them it was for a 2000 525i bmw. When you tell them its for a 67 Firebird they say they wont fit.

be careful a lot of european wheels have ball seat style lug nuts seat's. and american wheels have 60 degree tapered style seats. although you can buy washers to correct this if needed and make sure you have enough stud left for the lugs like 6 to 8 full turns on the lug.

Your bird looks great. I like what you did with the stripes. The are even on the dash. If I hadnt already commited myself to the 2 tone paint job I would have went with stripes very similar what you did.
The only thing I would do different on your car to make it look even better would be to go with a lower profile tire. Those larger profile tires make the wheels look a little smaller. Still looks great though.

The wheels look great - the whole car looks great - Like the stripes and love the color. Nice job! I also agree the wheels look very business like without the center caps.

Great choice in wheels. They really look sharp!!!

Yes, they look sharp! Have you though of painting the inner part of the rim white or the whole rim white to give it that total outlaw look? See if someone on this sight can photo chop for you? It may look good.

They look good silver white would also look cool.Just use the exact white paint as the stripe, nothing worse than when white wheels dont match.

I like the whole thing and the color is great. How well did that T/A style wing fit?

Thanks for all the complements,I thought this post had died. I hunted a long time for those wheels. I dont think white would look good! thanks though. the wing I got off ebay, it is made for the 67-68 but it fit like crap. we had to cut it in the middle and bend it down then reglass it. it still does not fit tight like I would want it to. But I think it looks pretty good.

I have been thinking about getting similar bmw wheels for my car. Do you know if they make them in wider sizes than 8.5? Also, where would the place be to shop for these, i assume many shops have them used as take-offs from people who have upgraded to aftermarket wheels.

These are aftermarket wheels made in Germany by Rondell, They make a 17x10. You can find them on ebay or at the wheel exchange. I did not find that many take offs because these are the wheels they want to upgrade to.

looks great, however, painting the chrome front end on a 67-68 firebird is sacrilige IMHO!

you don't have a pontiac! so your not even part of the religion (ha ha) painting the front bumper makes it look like a whole diff. car. for the better IMHO!

OUTSTANDING LOOKING!!:bananna2: I looked on Wheelexchange and could not find the 17" series.. It seems only the 18" are there. Did you have to call them and ask??

I want to two tone my 68 coupe and was toying with the painted

bumper look......I will have no problems painting them now!
