I know there is a wheel fitment section but I have not seen a part that lists the largest tire/wheel width that will fit on a camaro with 15 inch steel wheels... 69 camaro, with a 2 inch drop in the suspension. Anyone have an idea??(biting the bullet and going back to a 15 inch since I really want the nascar rim look)

Thanks
Mark

Toofun, I have got 15 x 8 wheels with 4.5 b/s, 225 60s front and 235 60s rear. There is room to go biiger in the rear, I believe. I run a little neg. camber and I rolled the rear quarter lip.

Here's mine with a 2" drop and 15x8" 4.5 BS all the way around. 255-60-15 tires in the rear and 235-60-15 tires in the front. Button head screws holding the front wheel trim on. Rear fender lips not rolled.

I run Torque Thrust II's 15x7 3 3/4bs on the front and 15x8 4 1/2bs on rear. P225/60 R15 front and P255/60 R15 rear BFG's with no tire rub. Car is lowered 2" with CalTrac traction bars.

Neil B your car looks awesome!

In response to the question on what tires are available for track days or autocross in a 15" tire, the best bet is a vintage racing tire (ie Avon,Goodyear racing, hoosier)

I've been thinking of going with a vintage Trans-Am racing look, and a 15" Wheel and tire setup just looks right on a 67'-69' Camaro. Once you go to a vintage event and see the old Trans-Am cars, you'll know exactly what i mean...

I could not remember what size tires I used to run on my 15s, I did a google search and this thread came up..too funny -I answered my own question!

Rock the 15"! I just switched back to 15" wheels for the trans am look on my 67 mustang, 225 60 15 in front and 255 60 15 BFG's out back. 69 camaro's have more room so I would think u can run a 295 50 15 out back and a 235 60 up front.
I can post pic's of 69 t/a cars from back in the day rocking wide tires on 15x8
