I am looking at pads for my Chevelle and I am looking for anyone with some first hand experience. The car will be a street car with a fair amount of Autocross action and hopefully a few open track events. But street and Auto-X will be the primary concern.

The brake system is my own cheap big brake setup with 12x1.25 front rotors with GM cast iron calipers, and 11.75x.900 rear rotors with 'Metric' cast iron calipers.

I am looking for a good set of pads with good bite. Dust production isn't a big problem to me, however I am looking for a pad that doesn't make a ton of noise for street driving.

I am currently looking at the Hawk HPS and HP+. Leaning towards the HP+. The biggest concern that I have with them at this point is how much noise do they make.

Any suggestion??? What do you folks run, and are you happy with it?

Thanks.
R.J.

HP+ here. For me, the pad noise is minor. They make little noise at normal braking pressures, and do squeak just a bit under very light braking. Acceptable cold-brake performance. They do generate a fair amount of dust. Very good on-track performance once they get some heat in them.

Would this be a concern in an Auto-X application?

I too endorse Hawk HP+. Ditto on all Carl's comments.
