Ok, weld wheels 15 /7 or 8s front 3.5 bs.and 15/10s 4.5 bs rears, Want wide all arround, thinking t a radials. or nittos.... .. Not sure about 50,series or 60s series. My biggest concern is rubbing in the rear so I would think that would be the most important thing determinating choice.. Someone gave me a set of McCrearys,305/15s that have a season left, these came off a 442 ,a body, without a problem,,, Any ideas... anyone going to OBI or Captree,Belmore ??????. PS,, Isnt this site great, Im living here and Lateral G.. See you...and thanks

3.5" backspace on an 8" wide wheel and 4.5" on a 10" isn't going to work on that car. You need 4.5" and 5.5",respectively.

442's have a full round rear wheel opening. NO Chevelle has a round rear wheel opening therefore what "may" fit a 442 will most likely NOT fit a Chevelle particularly in the rear.

I have 8's and 9 1/2 Americans on a 70 Chevelle. The rears have a 5 inch backspace and 275/40/17 tires. The right rear tire rubbed the fender lip. The car I have is a rustfree California car that has never been damaged and the body was installed 3/8 inch off center to the right. Therefore the right tire rubbed and the left tire did not.

Take ZR1's GOOD advice and use the offsets he had recommended. Just because it fits and Oldsmobile does not mean squat with a Chevrolet!
