I need to know if anyone with a 70-74 camaro ever put 18x10 rim on the rear and if so what was the back spacing and offset? REALLY any input from all you guys on this site can help me. I was told by two diff. rim dealers like intro wheels and bad billet wheels that this is the site to go to if you need to know something about getting a big wheel under my car. so i posted already and got nothing so please if you know what SIZE/B.S./AND OFFSET PLEASE POST A REPLY. so i can get my wheels ordered. they make the wheels for to my spec. SO these are my setups on my car. i have global west a-arms with coilovers and 2'' drop and in the rear i have hotchis 1 1/2'' drop leafs in rear nothing diff. with shock location in back. IF ANY ONE CAN HELP PLEASE DO SO.

It seems you may have some terms mixed up. Backspacing and offset are pretty much the same measurment. It is two different ways of stating where the wheel mounting face needs to be. For example, a 0 offset is the same as a 4.5" bs on an 8" rim.

Definitely, definitely, definitely, regardless of how many folks are able to fit a given size wheel in their wheelwell, measure your own wheelwell - production tolerances weren't particularly tight when these cars were new and any damage or even normal wear and tear may have changed the dimensions on your car.

Nothing worse than getting some custom backspaced wheels made up only to find that your car is shifted 1/4" to the left and they both rub.

18x10" should fit. Look in the range of 5.5"-5.75" for the backspace. I just test fit a 18x9.5" wheel on the rear of my '77. I have pretty good clearance. Tire size is something you may have to make sure you measure for. The only reason I have good clearance is because I have the fender lip rolled. For tires, you can easily fit a 295/35 tire on that wheel, but you will still have to measure your car. Each car has different dimensions. A safer tire size will be a 285/35 or a 275/40 or275/35. I know the 275's fit fine. The main issue you will find is because your car is lowered. Also, I always say to expect some tire rub. You just don't know when or how bad it will be unless you measure.

Ummm... I forgot to add the spots you'll have to watch for clearance. The fender lip (as mentioned before), the rear seatbelt bump at the front of the inner fenderwell, and the tail pipe in the rear. Just some stuff to look out for.

Thanks alot 4 all the info! and what are your thoughts on a trim wheel lip? do you think 285/35 would give me a problem. i'm running turn downs on the exhust but didn't even think about that seat belt bump i will check that out. really thanks alot becuase with out this info i would have been stuck runnin something thinner than my wallet. lol

You've already received some good advice but this will further reinforce to you that you can fit a 295 if you get the backspacing correct.

I personally would go with Zbugger's upper end recommendation for BS at 5.75.
