Just wanted to say hello since I'm new to the site. I saw a reference to this board from transamcountry.com. I've been hanging out there and on ls1tech.com.

And I've been on ls1tech.com because my project is a conversion putting an LS1+T56 into a recently-restored 78 T/A SE.

I'll save you the sob story on the history of this vehicle, because my guess is there's a bit of membership overlap with tacc, ls1tech and here. But if you want to hear it, I'll tell it. :)

And yes - I know it's not a "true bandit" since it's not one of the select few built by transamspecialties, but so many people know exactly what you mean when you say Bandit, that I don't care - that's what I'm calling it! :)

Here she is (and yes - I'm going to change out the wheels. I've been beaten into submission on that one! :) ).

And the new drivetrain:

i would have put an even bigger motor in there, or a stroker, since its such a heavy car...badass swap though, i wish i could afford an ls1 for my project, but my lt1 did the trick, plus its a 2400lb car:)

Well, it's actually lighter than the 4th gens, at least according to specs. Not to say it's light, especially compared to 2400lb ... :) I've talked to guys that have taken their 2nd gens + LS1 with some mods into the 11's. Since this really isn't meant to be a race car - mostly just a fun car - that's plenty for me.

That car is so clean, good luck with the swap. I have been looking at 2nd gen f-bodies lately, definitely keep us posted.
