RS/SS headlights ??

How well do the headlights work on a '69 Camaro RS/SS with the headlight doors closed?, is much vision lost? If fitted with hi-power bulbs is it possible to use them closed permanenetly? I've a customer that has them fitted to his car but does not have all of the door actuation mechanism, hence they're permanently shut. They actully work pretty well. I wouldn't recommend driving a long way or often at night without opening the doors, but it's okay. I have standard bulbs and after a car show, or if I don't have too far to go, I will leave mine closed. It may be even better with hi-power bulbs. Also, I've never been stopped, but it wouldn't surprise me if cops would stop you if they noticed the doors closed.
