Anybody running one of these cams yet? I am now in the process of getting ready to do my engine and these cams have piqued my interest. Was just wondering if anybody has tried one yet and what do you think about them?

I've got one going in mine ... it'll be on the dyno in a week or so.

which cam are you using? what motor are you putting it into?
Thinking about a 60104 for my 350.

Alot of folks over at Team-Chevelle are running them. Harold Brookshire, the designer of the VooDoo line of cams post commonly over there in the Performance section. Search over there and you should get some feedback.

It's going in my 427 LS2, and is a brand new cam supposedly custom ground with the "Voodoo" ramps. I'll know more about it when I get out to see it on the dyno. Any day now.

I'm really interested in the reliability of these grinds. The valve action seems somewhat extreme.

Not necessarily related to your flat tappet application, but I have been looking at their solid roller cams for a motor I'm building, and I was worried about running them on a street car because the valve springs they recommend are a bit stiffer from what many folks say is streetable. Their recommended seat and open pressures are around 220, and 550 respectively, which is more than the generally accepted 450 open pressure that I have read repeatably for a street driven car. Of course if your going to check the lifters on a regular basis, I guess it wouldn't be a problem. Since I already have springs that aren't stiff enough, and don't want to risk blowing stuff up, I have to stick with the slow action comp roller.

From what I read over at Team Chevelle, with their flat tappet grinds they keep .019" away from the edge of the lifter at all times to avoid reliability problems. More area under the curve is a good thing, and I bet they work well. The guy that posts about them is UDHarold, as he used to work for Ultradyne.
