Does anybody know what happened to these guys? I know they used to be pretty active on the forum and offered a solid product. I placed an order via the web site on 13 OCT 2024. Ive called repeatedly since placing the order, always receiving the same song and dance about "waiting on an order of materials" or "that group of orders should ship in a week or two". I just tried calling the number on the web site again, and now it just goes to a nameless voice mail. I assume at this point, my money has been stolen and Ill have to take it up with the credit card company, but I just wanted to check here and see if anyone had any additional information or similar experience.
Thanks!

The dude is hard to get ahold of. I bought the AC hose bulkhead for my K5 and it took 6 months of riding his ass. I’m in sales so I made it my mission to call 2-3 x’s a week & email.
My suggestion is to find another product. I probably only got lucky due to being obnoxiously persistent

Thanks for the info.....what a clown. I went through this same process with another company on a set of headlights for my 2002 4Runner. The company went under before I ever got my lights. Fortunately, I was able to file a claim with the credit card company and they reimbursed the expense.

He's a one man show that did the right thing with safety recall on his vents he initiated despite no known actual problems. This got him in a bind, he's dug out of now but the ever changing landscape of tariffs has created new problems for shipping but he is shipping. I got my vents in 6 months which is less time others have waited on other parts like Dakota Digital and Anvil. His lead time is less than that now, but if you don't want to wait a bit for a one of a kind quality product you shouldn't order from him. He's not going out of business, you will get any parts ordered I'm sure.

That may be the case, but a little communication goes a LONG way. Stringing people along two weeks at a time for 8 months is pretty piss poor business practices.

so predictably, between the time I started this thread and now, I had contacted II Much twice, and both times was once again assured my parts would ship in the next week or two. Went to call back again today, and they no longer appear to have a web site. $300 down the drain.
Guys a flake but after 3 years I received my parts but not the partial refund I was due & promised...

what a clown. a simple fuel vent shouldn't take as long to build as an entire car

I’m guessing tariffs was the final nail in the coffin.

potentially. that being said, I did order the part a solid 6 months before there was ANY talk of tariffs. that much lead time to deliver a glorified metal box is insane. I've been through this before with another vendor and was able to make a claim with the credit card company, but in that case I had months worth of emails, and then their final instagram post when the company went under. Because IIMuch never replied to emails, all of my interactions were via phone, so no paper trail besides the original purchase order.

I’m not disagreeing with you. He was an awful business owner imo. He just couldn’t survive the recall, Covid supply chain issues and finally the loss of tariff free de minimus shipping across the border.
Any info on the recall? I am wondering what I have now...

Recall was years ago. You should be fine if it’s the new version.

He posted this on Social Media yesterday
II MUCH products business status.
Our website appears to have been taken over. We're working with our hosting service to resolve.
We've had serious issues due to tariffs but will resume shipping backorders to the US this month.
New orders into the US will be suspended temporarily until we've filled backorders and have confidence we can ship without being charged random fees, or having orders destroyed by customs.

Hope he means it this time and isn't taking pages right out of Mark Savitske's play book. :dunno:

At this point, Im 16 months in, and chalking it up to a loss. Radium Engineering just released a pretty similar looking vent set up for comparable cost that I'll probably order. If I randomly get my IImuch vent in the mail in another 3 years, I'll throw it in the parts locker for a future project.

I will add that he sent out quite a few "new order" vents before he ever filled my order. He promised me a refund 3 times and I never received one. During our dealings, I called & emailed several times with no immediate response. The responses that I did receive came directly after speaking negatively about him on this forum and on FB. The product that I finally received was a cheaper version with different mounting then what I ordered. Personally, I would not recommend doing business with him.

Just a quick side note, you really shouldn't vent the tank directly into a charcoal canister. I know lots of people are doing it and there are several products out there to facilitate this, but it's bad practice.
If you look at what the factory did when they added charcoal canisters, they added a vapor separator first. This is essentially what a IIMuch can is. I still run the factory separator in my Camaro but without the charcoal can. My garage doesn't smell like fuel at all. ****Side note in a side note - most guys that complain about their garage smelling like fuel still have carburetors and that is typically the source of their issue. ****

That is to keep liquid gasoline out of the charcoal. Once the charcoal is saturated it is junk. Later tanks were all built so that you can't fill them all the way or they have a vapor dome on the top. That allows the fuel in a "full" tank to expand without pushing liquid to the charcoal canister. This is a vapor dome.

That aside, the IIMuch vents are awesome but it doesn't matter because they can't be delivered in a reasonable time frame.

I simplified my vent system down quite a bit with my Tanks EFI tank... bypassed that fuel separator thing behind the seat (which I never really liked anyway)
I have a 90° 5/16 hose barb fitting high up in my filler neck near the non-vented cap. The barb is NPT and screws into the steel filler neck. The neck is thin wall steel, but I tapped it and it works adequately. That barb connects to the steel line going to the front of the car (using 5/16 rubber hose), and the steel line goes to the charcoal canister.
The vent port on top of the fuel pump module goes to both of these two vents which are set up "in parallel" with eachother.

The rollover valve is mounted upside down. When the charcoal canister is activated by the ECM, the tank draws air in through this valve. When the car is off, the valve seals up and doesn't let vapors out. I know that's not the purpose of that rollover valve, but the odds of me rolling the car over are essentially zero.
The mushroom vent valve is there for safety. If the CCP system fails to operate or something, the mushroom valve will bleed off pressure before it becomes dangerous.
I've had this setup for many years now and it seems to work beautifully. Never get pressure build up in the tank (positive or negative), and never get any smell in the garage.

From Facebook today:
II MUCH Status Update 4 FEB 26
Our site is back up. The hosting issue is resolved.
If you need to contact II MUCH the only method we monitor is the chat function on the www.iimuch.com (http://www.iimuch.com) web page. We have a back log of people to get in touch with but should be resolved soon.
The business did temporarily pause due to the damages caused by tariffs. We've made some major changes to avoid closing our doors for good but we are looking at halting orders to the US at least until shippers are able to handle our USMCA tariff exempt goods without randomly applying massive and inappropriate fees to us or our customers.

appreciate the update. on some level, I feel bad for the guy....I hate to see the tariff games affect small business owner. but at the same time, the order was placed 3 months before the tariff tsar was in office and 6 months before any talk of tariffs. if you cant turn an aluminum box around in 6 months, you should probably stop taking additional orders for aluminum boxes.

It's been 8 months since I placed my order with no word from II Much. I have left voice messages, emails, and chat requests. I will reach out to my cc to recoup my payment. I'm located in the US; Canada might be different.
Order 3699 RIP.
