Engine is 388 with whipple 2.9 with, tuner stated with forced fan on dyno it stayed at 217 deg on an 86 degree day.
Entropy 2 core 1" tubes Radiator, dual 11" SPAL fans full shroud, C&R "C5" size air to water intercooler, VA Gen4 Condenser, 11x12 transmission cooler and 2"x10" pwr steer cooler, 187 OEM thermostat. Same set up ran a rock solid cool commanded 200-205 with 525hp ls3 build prior to swapping in sleeved 388, whipple and intercooler.
This combo, at idle stays at 195 np, once underway slowly creeps up to 227 when NOT at fwy speed as soon as hits traffic and or cruising around a neighborhood starts to climb, then back on fwy will drop a few degrees but nowhere back to commanded 205-210, just holds high current temp, not up not down.
Note car does not have a hood on it and A/C is not on, does have a front lowe dam, top of rad has a close out and all gaps have been sealed with foam between all radiators to prevent recirculation of hot air and force all incomming air through rads. Air has been burped, and running dex cool with water wetter, brushless HV water pump, no change.
Currently have on order Entropy Single core with 2" tube rad with full shroud duel 13" HPX fans. Vendor stated the thinner, larger single 2" tube rad has in house tested to outperform their 2 core dual 1.25" tube radiator with 11" spals.
Concept is the higher flow through performance of less restrictive rad help larger fans wick away heat at cruising speeds and stop creep up once intercooler starts contributing to heat soak situation.
Is any one running similar set up with better results?
